Your initial certification by a registered physician is current for one calendar year under NY state law. The cost for the initial evaluation and certification is $200. As your expiration nears, you will need to re-certify with us. The cost for a renewal consultation and certification is $175.

Our doctors provide comprehensive medical marijuana evaluations and certify qualifying patients. Patients will be evaluated and medical information will be reviewed in order to determine whether or not medical cannabis treatment may be appropriate for a patient suffering from an approved medical condition.

In addition, the doctor will discuss the benefits and risks involved in the use of medical marijuana. Any approved patients will be certified with the NY Medical Marijuana Registry and be able to begin the online registration process to obtain a medical marijuana certificate, required to purchase the medicine from a licensed NY dispensing facility.

HOW THE PROCESS WORKS……

Prior to speaking with the doctor, patients are screened for qualification in accordance with the rules of the Compassionate Care Act. Patients deemed eligible will receive guidance regarding required documentation of their condition and evidence of New York State residency. At this point, an appointment will be scheduled with the doctor.

During the evaluation, the doctor will conduct a discussion of your reasons for wanting to medicate with cannabis and a review of your medical history. This typically takes 20 – 30 minutes. If your physician decides medical cannabis will help your condition, he or she will discuss risks and benefits as well as provide guidance regarding which products and doses will be most beneficial to your particular condition(s), symptom(s) and lifestyle.

You will then receive a signed certification. With this certification, you can go online to the NY Department of Health and obtain your Medical Marijuana Card.
